Business
The ambitious MorningKai team of tech founders and developers were focused on launching a transformative AI work/life management tool for busy urban individuals, as they finalized their funding application.
Role & Responsibilities
UX Designer responsible for user research, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and UI design
Overview
I joined the team whilst they were putting together the prototype and presentations for an important funding application. Presented to me simple and clear, the product goal was to create an AI-powered tool that translates verbal input into an organized, well-structured, and categorized daily schedule + task list, helping busy, young urban individuals live an organized, well-planned, and intentional life. However, the key challenges are that the existing prototype lacked accessibility, aesthetic value, and efficiency in organizing the tasks. So my role was to transform the tool by fundamentally enhancing its accessibility and user-friendliness, while simultaneously designing a new, intuitive system for AI-generated task organization, directly addressing critical user needs.

The Problem
Busy, ambitious urban professionals (ages 20-35) often struggle with information overload and difficulty structuring their unorganized thoughts into actionable plans, leading to stress and a lack of intentional living. They need an accessible, intuitive tool to quickly capture their train of thought and transform it into a clear, actionable daily plan - so they can spend their time with intention and purpose.
Initial Vision & Its Missed Opportunities
The startup's initial concept for an AI-powered thought-to-schedule tool was fundamentally sound. However, its early desktop design lacked the aesthetic appeal and intuitive user experience needed to truly engage and retail users. Critically, it also underestimated the significance of mobile voice input and the need for a more structured, yet flexible, way to capture dynamic thoughts beyond basic diction.
Pain Point 1
Struggle to Capture & Structure Disorganized Thoughts
Pain Point 2
Ineffective & Unengaging Desktop Planning Experience
Pain Point 3
Lack of Seamless On-the-Go Planning & Accessibility
The Solution
The solution is to both revamp the design of the desktop app and to develop the mobile app so that users can take the tool with them on-the-go, to plan out their days in organized and clear daily schedules, and to achieve their goals of living intentional and full lives.

Chronological To-do list that combines past, present, and future To-Dos to display tasks for easy tracking
Thought-Starter Scroll Navigation
To help users spark their train of thought while reflecting on their day, this feature offers a horizontal scroll of activity categories. By browsing through these categories, users can easily recall and organize their thoughts before recording.
The Mobile App: Seamless On-the-Go Capture
I spearheaded the design of the mobile app from conception, establishing it as the crucial on-the-go tool for capturing spontaneous thoughts via voice.
